While most people would say Memorial Day is the official kick-off to the summer season, those who call the gulf coast town of Sarasota, FL home know it’s their annual restaurant week appropriately named Savor Sarasota that’s the real signal of summer.

Making its debut over 15 years ago in 2006, Savor Sarasota started as the idea to keep the town’s restaurants in full swing over the sleepy summer months when the tourists (back then) went home. Now it’s where restaurants, locals, and tourists alike come together and celebrate great food, good company, and the town we love.

Savor Sarasota originally launched with only a couple dozen restaurants coming together to showcase their chef’s abilities in creating cuisines from all over the globe, with Michaels on East, Sarasota’s only AAA Four Diamond Award restaurant, among the first to join. By 2019 they gained over 100 participating restaurants located all around the Sarasota area from Lakewood Ranch down to Venice and everywhere in between.

Perhaps what is so great about this tasty event is it gives you the opportunity to visit restaurants you may not typically frequent and taste dishes you might not normally choose, a real chance to Savor all that Sarasota has to offer. A pre-fixed menu is specially created for both lunch and dinner costing only $25 and $40 per person respectively. A great value considering most meals include a small appetizer, main dish, and dessert.
From American classics to savory seafood and pasta perfection, your palate will thank you for experiencing all that Savor Sarasota has to offer.
